Lyra

Lyra is a metal ring suspended from an anchor point – think circus performances. It combines basic acrobatic tricks, flexibility, strength and dance choreography. Lyra is achievable for newcomers but be warned, it is more painful than the other aerial equipment and requires a bit more coordination and balance (but is totally worth it!). To get the best experience in lyra we recommend you have a couple of terms of pole or sling experience before transitioning.
Please arrive 10 minutes early for all classes, especially the first one so we can introduce and familiarise you with the studio.
What to wear
Leggings or pants that are not loose, including tops – you want to be able to slide over and through the lyra. Give yourself the option of long and short sleeve tops.
Bring a perspiration towel, a water bottle, and your own small lyra cleaning cloth (microfibre) or you can use our reusable cloths in the studio. Barefoot or sneakers is the norm.
